DUDLEY CUP COMPETITION RULES :
1. Each participating team squad of up to 25 Players from the four participating clubs
2. All players to be fully IRFU registered with each player to have their own registration number.
3. Each squad must submit squad sheet with player registration numbers in advance of the tournament. These squad sheets have to be ready for presentation to the referees before the tournament and failure to submit such a sheet will result in that squad not being eligible to play in the competition.
4. Adult Laws of game apply
5. Competition will be played on a 4 team round robin league basis.
6. The competition will be run on two pitches with 2 games running in tandem over three blocks of games.
7. Each game will be 15 minutes each half with 5 minute break for half time (no injury or extra time to apply & a hooter system for starting and finishing times will apply)
8. Each team will play three games or 90 minutes of rugby in total
9. There will be 15 minute breaks between all games
10. The position of the winning Club in the competition shall be established by the awarding of;
– Four points for win
– Two points for a draw
– A bonus point awarded to a team scoring 4 or more tries in a game
– A bonus point awarded to a team losing by 7 points or less
11. In the event of a tie at the end of the competition the winner shall be decided in the following order by;
– Match points scored over the three games
– The larger difference between points for and against over the three games
– The team scoring the most tries over the three games
– Drawing of lots
12. Sanctions
– Yellow card = player misses 5 minutes playing time
– Red card = player misses remaining matches of the tournament and may be reported to his Branch
DUDLEY CUP 2014-2015 ARRANGEMENTS:
Directions to competition playing fields, Presentation Brothers Cork, Dennehys Cross, Wilton, Cork.
- For Dublin teams, the main Dublin-Cork M8 motorway turns to dual carriage-way at Glanmire, continue until you come to the Dunkettle roundabout.
- At the Dunkettle roundabout proceed to the Jack Lynch tunnel, 3rd exit and continue onto the N40 south link road
- For Queens follow the Middleton-Cork road until you meet the Dunkettle roundabout
- At the Dunkettle roundabout proceed to the Jack Lynch tunnel, 2rd exit and continue onto the N40 south link road
- For both continue on the south link until you reach the Sarsfield Road roundabout, take the 3rd exit and proceed up Sarsfield Road (marker Wilton Shopping Centre will be on your left)
- Proceed to the Wilton roundabout and take the second exit (marker the Cork University Hospital will be on your left)
- Proceed down Wilton Road, marker Bishopstown RC Church will be on your left. At this traffic light take a right turn onto R608 and the PBC playing grounds are 100 meters onward on the right hand side.
Directions to post match meal at the Student Restaurant in the main University College Cork campus, College Road Cork.
- All teams leave the PBC playing grounds at Dennehys Cross and take a right turn at entrance onto R608.
- Proceed down this road for 200 meters when you come to a fork in the road, take the left fork onto College Road
- Continue on College Road for 500 meters past the Bons Secour Hospital on your left and then arrive at the main entrance to UCC on College Road.
TEAM NOTES:
Teams must be registered immediately upon arrival at registration desk in the upstairs area of the clubhouse-changing area.
There will be teas and coffees available in this area.
There will be ample area (4 pitch complex) for teams to warm up on before and after games.
PBC are very kindly providing these facilities to us for the day so please ensure all participants make every effort to leave the complex neat and tidy after them.
Lunch packs will be prepared for each of the participating squads and will be delivered to each of the respective dressing rooms.
A post-match meal will be served to the 4 teams in the student restaurant in the main UCC campus on College Road less about 1km from the playing fields.
The Dudley Cup will be presented to the winning team before the meal commences.
The Italy Ireland game will be shown on TV in the bar area adjoining the student restaurant.
There will be medical facilities available on the day (doctor/ambulance) and the Cork University Hospital is directly across the road from the PBC playing fields
